The Starrett AV350 (AV-350-Z-M3-3LED) is an automatic, 3-axis CNC video-based vision measuring system featuring a 14″ x 14″ x 8″ travel range, a heavy-duty granite base, MetLogix M3 CNC software with a touchscreen PC, 12:1 zoom optics, and 3-channel LED illumination. This was removed from a extremely clean shop that specialized in plastics. It was working when moved. Still in calibration but probably needs it again from the move.

1. 3-Channel LED Illumination (-3LED)
The system utilizes independent, programmable light sources to isolate part edges cleanly: 
  • Sub-stage Transmitted Light: Profile lighting for clean outer-dimension silhouettes.
  • Coaxial Light: Surface illumination reflecting through the zoom lens path for blind holes or deep pockets.
  • Ring Light: Multi-segment surface ring illumination for top-down contrast adjustment on surface features.

2. MetLogix M3 Software Framework 
The metrology interface works on a 21-inch or 24-inch touchscreen PC. “The M3 software supports 2D geometrical constructs (lines, angles, circles)” and features multi-touch panning and zooming directly on the live camera feed. It natively accepts DXF CAD file imports to build automated pass/fail inspection templates. 
3. Expandable Probe Capability 
Though primarily a non-contact vision CMM, the AV350 platform supports upgrading to Multi-Sensor configurations. It is fully compatible with optional Renishaw touch probe kits and tool-changing racks to measure hidden physical features that the optical camera cannot see
